Responsible body: Telecommunications provider "OTE"

Type of data breach: Unsolicited commercial calls from third parties

The Greek data protection authority has imposed a fine of 200,000 euros on the telecommunications provider "OTE", a Greek company. Customers of the company filed a complaint because they had received unsolicited calls from third-party companies to promote products and services. The Greek data protection authority found violations of Article 25 and Article 5 and imposed the fine as a result.
