Nature of the data protection breach: No appointment of a data protection officer

The Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (BfDI) has imposed a fine of 10,000 euros on Rapidata GmbH.

Despite repeated requests, the company was in compliance with its legal obligation to Article 37 GDPR on the appointment of the company data protection officer. The data protection fine of 10,000 euros is relatively low, as the company is in the small business category.
