Nature of the data breach: patient records in Dutch hospital inadequately secured

A large number of employees at Haga Hospital are alleged to have accessed the medical records of a famous personality. The Dutch supervisory authority imposed a data protection fine for insufficient security of patient records. The relationship between patient and healthcare provider must be kept strictly confidential.
