Data breach at Phoenix: sensitive data sent by pharmacies

Type of data protection violation: employee sends sensitive data 

A data protection breach occurred at the Hamburg distribution center of Berlin-based drug manufacturer Phoenix on Dec. 16, 2019. An employee unintentionally sent delivery and sales data of 211 pharmacies by fax. The internal data protection officers were immediately involved, Phoenix apologized publicly to the affected pharmacies.

Categories of data: IDF number, pharmacy name, sales on the respective tour in the period September to 11 December 2018, number of the respective tour and number of bathtubs delivered
